This blue heron was too tempting not to try on the canvas. These birds hold royalty where they live and fish. I saw this particular one in the Roquist Swamp in Indian Woods just southwest of Windsor, NC. They don't have a whole lot of time for intruders and will let you know with a god awful sounding croak when you enter their fiefdom.
