Gone To Pot

SOLD
12x16
A couple of years ago early one Spring I was running a load of white perch through my drum scaler. As I began to head and gut the fish, Carl "Rub a Dub" Bryant told me that I was foolish throwing those heads and guts away when I could freeze and use them later that summer in my crab pots.  That is exactly what I did, and it worked perfectly in the scattered pots along the Bertie shoreline of the Albemarle Sound. Nice blue crabs such as this can't resist the rotten smell of this recycled bait.  After being emptied into a cooler and taken back to the sandy banks of Salmon Creek, these beauties, along with freshly shucked sweet corn,  go to another pot - a pot of seasoned boiling water.
