Pretty Work Cuz

16x20
SOLD

A couple of weeks ago Wayland Spruill and Hunter Blount went out of Oregon Inlet to try some of the ocean rock that, after a couple or so year hiatus, have returned to the North Carolina Coast. Before the two left I told Wayland to take some snaps of some of the fish because I really wanted to paint a rock with a colorful bait in his mouth. When they got a couple of miles off shore somewhere East of Nags Head, Spruill dropped a line with an old stretch 30  that he had bought at a yard sale a couple of years ago, and within minutes this forty seven pounder struck the bargain deal bait.  After I received the pic I knew that not only fish but angler as well had to go on the canvas, because the photo had captured in one second Spruill himself - enthusiastically perched up right in the cockpit of a sportfisher, packing a genuine mile wide smile while holding up a big fish and yelling to his partner, "Pretty Work Cuz!".
