Ninth Tee at Turnberry

11x14
SOLD

I'm no golfer, but if I was, St. Andrews and Turnberry in Southwestern Scotland would be two "have to play" destinations before I checked out of the planet.  Turnberry's beautiful rugged coast property was used as a Royal Air Force base in both WWI and WWII. Turnberry Point Lighthouse is built on the foundation of what was once Turnberry Castle.
I was asked to donate a painting for the Lawrence Academy Athletic Booster Club auction tonight and felt it fitting to come up with something "sports oriented" that would still allow me to dive into some beautiful landscape at the same time.
