Thicket Lump Marina sits on the South end of Wanchese in the middle of some beautiful marsh overlooking Roanoke Sound and Bodie Island Lighthouse to the East. Davis Yachts used to be made here, and on the second floor of the boat works is now a great restaurant overlooking the harbor and marina with sport fishers  tied up to pylons - a beautiful scene all the way around.  Behind the shed is no exception with a lot of rusty heavy equipment and boats in for repairs and paint.
