This afternoon the sun finally burned out of the clouds that have hovered over Bertie County since Friday Morning. I told my brother that I would cut the fans on the grain bins to dry some of the last grain sorghum that we have stored from last year's crop. Since it had been so damp, today was the first day that I could get dry air to it. Since I only had a few hours before sundown, I decided to set up right there out of fear of forgetting to come back and turn the fans off.

This old John Deere High Boy sits comfortably in some weeds next to the woods behind the grain bins. The afternoon sun was hitting it just right for some good warm value changes. Drying milo and getting a decent painting in on a sunny afternoon ain't too bad.
