This a commission of the old Evans farmhouse just outside of Merry Hill in Bertie County. A hot high noon summer's day was the best play with an intense sunlight and cool shadows on this particular house that was built circa 1946. Right beside it, the rows were just freshly cultivated with moist brown soil fluffing up the crop giving some contrast to the illuminated grass. A view from across the highway in the middle of a cotton field was the only place to get this angle.
