One of the many perks of painting outside and on location is the fact that people, who normally would not even speak to you or better yet run you off of their property, all of a sudden get into the moment of art and are curious to see my work. This creates an atmosphere of benevolence that otherwise would not have existed if I were just standing around with no easel. This is especially helpful in boatyards where smiling upon your fellow brother and goodwill towards man ain't exactly in the top five of the priority list for the day.
