Power Walk

12 x 16
Oil on Wood Panel
Will be on display at T Gallery, Raleigh on March 6

On my way out of Raleigh the other day, I decided to go downtown and try to get some street scene pics for some possible paintings. At the end of Hillsborough, I put a couple of dollars in the meter and started walking.  The early afternoon sun was beating down on the cars and pedestrians illuminating metal roofs, hoods, heads, and shoulders all the same bright white  as both  busily flowed  up  and down Fayetteville Street and Wilmington Street.  These three suits were having a discussion on their way somewhere, and as I was snapping away, I couldn't help but to think of the introduction scene in Reservoir Dogs.  I couldn't get the song out  of my head for the rest of the afternoon and can only imagine what folks were thinking on their way back to the office seeing a weirdo at the corner with his camera humming Little Green Bag.
