Brown's "Mullet Roar and Other Stories by an Outer Banker", with its wonderful paintings and stories behind their inspiration, puts the reader in the shotgun seat with Billy, a retired charter boat captain and school teacher, as he four wheels by brush and pen through his life as an avid outdoorsman and waterman from marlin fishing in the Gulf Stream to whitetail deer hunting in the beautiful Eastern North Carolina hardwood swamps of Bertie County.
