Just like learning how to ride a bike, finally being able to successfully cast a spinner is a huge milestone for a kid. Though a proud moment, it's no time for dear old dad to relax as either the inevitable backlash of the fishing line or the lure getting hung in an overhanging tree limb will keep a beer out of his hands for most of the afternoon trying to either untangle line, snatch out hung up shad darts, or tie new ones to replace the ones that couldn't be retrieved. If he can talk his kid into going near the end of the pier and use a bobber with some live bait as this little boy did, dad can finally sit down and have one or two with no snags and no worries.
