Fetch My Cane Pole Mama!

A studio painting from a plein air reference done at Johnson Mill just outside of Windsor, NC on the Cashie River. Once the state road ends, an old dirt path snakes its way down hill to the makeshift boat ramp where an old saw mill once sat and where fresh cut cypress was loaded on to old shipping schooners bound for the Atlantic and ports up North. Now it is an off the beaten path landing for those who want to quickly get their boat overboard, get their cane poles out, and start quietly trolling for speckled perch. Not a bad place for a plein air set up either.
