Oil on Linen Board
Having a few beers and setting a few hundred yards of net on a pretty crisp evening is the easy part. Pulling it all back in the next morning with a heavy head under the heat of a rising sun can rub the shine off in a hurry - especially if there are more crabs than flounder in the net. The people who do this for a living earn their dime on the water and rely on good equipment and sturdy work boats like the Privateer in this painting. A team effort, no doubt, that often leads to one thinking that he is pulling more than the other.
