Sand Fiddlers

SOLD
11 x 14
Oil on Linen Board

As I have stated in prior posts, I'm to the point of being obnoxious when I see something that could make a painting and then take my phone or camera out and start snapping pics.  After about two hours in the car on the way to Nags Head for a wedding,  I was out and moving around on the beach before the ceremony. I heard violins but couldn't see where they were coming from until I looked right in front of me and saw these ladies going at it. As the bride nervously inched her way down the deck steps,  a gentlemen,  sporting possibly one of the state's longest mullets, joined in with a trumpet as all three then cranked out the bridal song. I immediately took my phone out and took a couple of what I thought were inconspicuous pics trying to block out mullets galore, but I then realized how bad I was snapping away during the ceremony - even though it was in the back behind the chairs.

I then waited until the show was over and asked the musicians if I could get some pics. They all gave me a look obviously saying " didn't you get enough already?".  Mullet Man wasn't too thrilled either that I purposely blocked him out, but I finally got a good snap I could work with. Maybe a trumpeter with a Kentucky waterfall in the back will make it next time.
