Painted on location on Water St. Windsor, NC
I was driving on Water St. a few days ago and saw Trent White's two boats tied up on the bank of the Cashie. The sun was almost overhead throwing some good dark reflections contrasting with the white boat and a green metal jon boat complimenting the red gas tank. I couldn't help to stop the truck and get out and set up on this.
I didn't include a car battery connected to about eight spot lights mounted on a two by four board strapped to the bow. Also not in the painting is a spear about as long as the boat resting on the floor. Turns out these boats are rigged for gar spearing at night.
Trent's neighbor came out to see what in the world I was doing painting here. After she saw the half finished painting and looked at the two subjects calmly floating beside one another, she said "That is a pretty scene. They look just like two friends waiting to go fishing.
