Painting boats illuminated by the sun creeping up from the Atlantic is irresistible - especially if the wind is Northeast and there is an eight foot stack of warehouse pallets to setup behind. After driving through Wanchese the other morning, I noticed this composition from my rear view mirror and had to turn around for a try. Like every other time I've painted boats, at some point the owner hops on board, cranks the engines and moves the boat. Luckily, I had already blocked it in.
